The Director, Marketing will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies that will achieve business objectives; communication, integration, and management of the strategic marketing plan with partners, directing and evaluating their activities; analyzing and reporting regularly on the market plan, strategy & ability to meet business objectives; recommending revisions to set the strategy or plan as necessary; managing the Marketing staff, including coaching and counseling, appraisals, development opportunities and salary consideration.
This position requires a BA or BS in a relevant field such as business, marketing or the sciences and an MBA is desirable. Also required is at least seven years of pharmaceutical/biotech/life science experience, at least years of experience in in-line marketing, strategic marketing or marketing research, and experience with US product launch and acute care (hospital) marketing. An understanding of the respiratory critical care marketplace and global marketing experience is desirable.

REGION BUSINESS DIRECTOR – West & Region Business Director - Midwest
The RBD is responsible for the management, development, and motivation of a sales team in achieving individual and corporate goals.
The essential functions of the positions include the development of tactical and strategic plans for the franchise, the planning and execution of
sales meetings, and development of territory performance goals.
The minimum requirements for this position are a Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred), and at least 4 years of pharmaceutical/biotechnology/medical
device management sales experience and experience in one of the following therapeutic areas: neonatology, pediatrics, pulmonary care, or critical care.
Doylestown, PA
The qualified candidate will oversee method development/validation/improvement, assessment of raw materials from alternate suppliers, provide technical training/assistance to the laboratories, provide investigational support, perform/oversee methods and technology transfer, and assess new technology and lab automation. This candidate will provide and support a team approach for all activities within his/her groups in support of the development and manufacture of products and their respective packages, for clinical and commercial distribution for Discovery Labs, Inc. and their internal/external business partners.
Responsibilities of qualified candidate will include but are not limited to all of the above as well as designing and overseeing troubleshooting and investigational studies; providing technical training and assistance to lab staff; approve and/or prepare technical reports/summaries for all work performed within group; performing in-depth reviews of laboratory notebooks and analytical records/reports and determine study/experiment disposition and ensure that all work within his/her group is in accordance with cGMPs, USP/NF/BP/EP compendia, safety requirements and Discovery Labs standard operating procedures.
Education qualifications are a Ph.D. in Chemistry from an accredited college/university with 5 years experience in a pharmaceutical quality control or analytical development laboratory setting performing progressively more responsible lab work and 2 years of management experience; or a
Masters degree in Chemistry from an accredited college/university with 8 years experience in a pharmaceutical quality control or analytical development laboratory setting performing progressively more responsible lab work and 3 years of management experience; or a
Bachelors degree in Chemistry from an accredited college/university with 10 years experience in a pharmaceutical quality control or analytical development laboratory setting performing progressively more responsible lab work and 5 years of management experience.
